Finished Objects - 2013

January 2013

Wrap With Love Navy/red blanket - simple Afghan squares

William's rug, I backed it, hand quilted it and put an edge on it to cover the sharp edges put on by the original crochet.

Wrap With Love in pink - I knitted a few of these squares, but mostly this was an assembly job.
Phoebe needed cot sheets for her new pre-school life.  These cuties fitted the bill.
Another Wrap With Love crocheted blanked, I love this one.  The edges and joining were done from yarn I found in the garage.  A nice soft acrylic fluffy yarn.
Very proud of myself for completing this neat wooden bench at the workshop day with Debbie.  It is made from paling fence recycled.

February 2013

Baby girl hat, need to find an owner for this one, might give it to Phyllis, she has just become a nanna to Scarlet (TBC).

Debbie's Rug - she is delighted with it.

March 2013

This monkey is for Leesa and Jason's new baby, which is due in June.  Sex not know yet, so waiting to have either a bow tie or a skirt added.  It is the same colour and the other monkeys I made for the twins.  No fighting!  This is a Leonay monkey.

It's the month of the monkey - this one is for Damien, who has just turned 3.  He is living in Canberra.

Phoebe's green cardigan finally finished, the buttons certainly make their own statement.

And finally completed Chris' tartan crocheted rug.  this was a project she was given, two thirds complete.  She does not crochet, and I had not done this particular pattern before.  I like it a lot and am happy with the end result.

Margo requested an ear flap beanie in burgundy.  I thought I had some yarn, but no luck, so could not resist this beautiful Cleckheaton Artisan from Spotlight.  Delightful yarn to work with and pattern from Ravelry.

Had another sewing day over Easter with Sandra, created this gorgeous little sleeping bag for Phoebe.  Plan to make another couple during April.  Have Winnie the Pooh fabric and purple/pink starts.

1st February 2013
Finished the black figure on Kurt's cross stitch this morning on the train.  What a good feeling.  Then got busy with Debbie's rug, finished two pink squares today.  They look different sizes, but it is the angle of the camera - honest!!!!

2nd February 2013
Off to the movies today with Marg.  Must take the knitting needles as I can knit half a square during a film.  Seeing Quartet.

Fabulous movie, heartily recommend it.

I knitted an entire square during the movie, though I must admit it is thick wool and large needles.  Then started on the next one at home.  Will be striping lots of these and adding them to a knitted blanket that is made up of bits and pieces created throughout the year.  Currently sitting at 50% complete.

3rd February 2013
Marking, marking and yes more marking.  What a day.  Percy came over tonight and as usual we shared stories, a fine bottle of red and yummy nibbles.

4th February 2013
Worked from Penrith today.  Had an appt with the skin specialist, got the all clear again.  A little bit of work done on Debbie's square while waiting for Dr Hari. Bought some cool patchwork fabric, Sandra needs it for a project she is making for Amanda and Kurt.

5th February 2013
Wentworth Falls today for the first time this year.  A very busy day, not much time for craft, but a little at night.  Good to see the gang in BMIT again though.

6th February 2013
Back on the train as you can see, another few square for Debbie's rug.  Am doing odd rows on the striped square at home at night.  Had four visitors arrive tonight for two days - Frankie and co.  Was a very pleasant night lots of chatting.  The girls are off to the hospital tomorrow as Caty has to have 5 teeth removed - ouch!
7th Feb 2013
More productive work done on the train today.  Finishing off a couple of squares for Debbie's rug
8th Feb 2013
As you can see, very productive today.  A train day

9th Feb 2013
Went to Bathurst today to visit Michael.  He was happy to see us as always and we took him to Lunch at the local Chinese restaurant.  Awesome food.  I have started to put a pink edge on Debbie's squares now. Another couple of mauve ones finished.

10th February
Chill out Sunday today
 Debbie's rug is looking good.

Yes it is a jig saw puzzle, sort of like craft!!  Upside down, can you still tell it is Alf.
11th Feb - Working at Blue Mountains again

12th February - Cool day at Penrith

13th February - Strathfield, lots more Debbie squares.  Note the red and navy - this is a variation of the circle to square, shown to me by June.

14th February - Happy Valentine's Day.  more Debbie Squares, looking good really

15th February - Strathfield - lovely chat with Lesley on the train today.  More laughs. Lots of Debbie squares coming together nicely.

16th February - Exciting weekend, babysitting Phoebe.

17th February - Phoebe and Amanda both unwell :-(

18th February - Blue Mountains today, not much craft today, a few rows of the knitted square with the fluffy bits.

19th February 2013
Penrith today, no training time, but finished knitting the loopy square at night.  This is made with the bits of yarn tied together to form the ball and then knitted with the ends of the right side.  adds texture and is very tactile.  Must knit one more like this so this rug with have a little balance.

20th February2013 - back on the Strathfield train, lots of time and no one to talk to on the way in.  Came home with Kim and Sandra. Yep the usual laughs ensued.  Isn't Debbie's rug looking good?  Three more squares to go, yay!

How to eat an elephant, a bite at a time.  This rug has been a bit like that.

21st February 2013
Debbie's rug looking good.
All squares finished and edged

22nd February, finished the rug so now making a hat out of what is left.  the opening needs to be caught in the middle so it resembles a butterfly.  Very easy pattern - all trebles.  On the way in on the train.

So this hat is a little small for Phoebe, need to find a baby to give it to.  So made a bigger one this time, on the train home.

23rd February
Putting the strips together

24th February, all strips now joined, starting on the edge.

25th February
This is the beginning of the start baby crochet.  Leslie has made one in yellow, must get a photo from her.
26th February - Debbie's rug is finished - YAY!  So warm.

26th February - started on a monkey, using bits and pieces.  Legs and arms were previously done, just had to do the torso and head.  This was done on the way to Strathfield.

27th February, a faceless monkey, finished this on the train today.

28th February - did the face and added a scarf for a jaunty look.  This little guy is off to Queensland to live.
